# Deposit to Vault Group
> Approve-and-deposit calldata for the pocket of a vault group that holds the chosen currency
Picks the pocket of a vault group that holds the currency or asset you name. It builds the deposit into that pocket exactly as [Deposit](/endpoints/vaults/deposit) does for a single vault: an approval, then the deposit, attributed to your instance as the depositor's distributor. Every check and refusal of Deposit applies, and so does the attribution table there. The depositor receives the pocket's shares, in the pocket's currency.
Name the pocket by exactly one of `currency` and `asset`. A `currency` matches a pocket's asset symbol first, for example `USDC`, and otherwise its settlement currency, for example `USD`. When two pockets settle in the same currency, naming the currency is ambiguous and is refused with `GROUP_CURRENCY_AMBIGUOUS`, which lists the candidates. Name the asset symbol or address then.
Confirm the deposit on the pocket with [Confirm Transaction](/endpoints/vaults/confirm-transaction), using the pocket's vault ID that `vaultId` and `confirmWith` name.
## Path Parameters
Vault group ID from [List Vaults](/endpoints/vaults/list-vaults) or [Get Vault Group](/endpoints/vaults/get-vault-group).
## Body Parameters
Amount to deposit as a decimal string greater than zero, in the pocket's asset and at its decimals.
An asset symbol such as `USDC` or `EURC`, or a currency such as `USD` or `EUR`: 2 to 12 letters, digits or `.`. Not accepted beside `asset`.
The settlement asset address of the pocket. Not accepted beside `currency`.
Wallet that will sign, checked as on [Deposit](/endpoints/vaults/deposit). When sent, it must be a `0x` address of 40 hex characters, otherwise `VALIDATION_ERROR`.
## Response Fields
The fields of [Deposit](/endpoints/vaults/deposit), plus:
The vault group.
The pocket's vault ID. Confirm the deposit on it.
`{ vaultId, vaultAddress, assetAddress, assetSymbol, assetDecimals, settlementCurrency }` of the pocket the deposit goes into.
`{ endpoint, txHash, txType }`: `POST /lending-external-securities-v2/api/vaults/{vaultId}/confirm-tx` for the pocket, with `txType: "DEPOSIT"`.

## Error Codes
Every code of [Deposit](/endpoints/vaults/deposit) can be returned for the chosen pocket. The group adds:
| Code | HTTP | Cause |
| - | - | - |
| `VALIDATION_ERROR` | `400` | `amount` is not a positive decimal string, neither or both of `currency` and `asset` were sent, `currency` is not 2 to 12 letters, digits or `.`, or an address is malformed |
| `VAULT_GROUP_NOT_FOUND` | `404` | No such group, it is archived, or it belongs to another operator and is unpublished or on another network or environment |
| `GROUP_POCKET_NOT_FOUND` | `404` | No deployed pocket of the group matches the currency or asset. `details.pockets` lists the pockets on offer |
| `GROUP_CURRENCY_AMBIGUOUS` | `409` | More than one pocket matches the currency. `details` carries `currency` and `candidates`; name the asset symbol or address instead |
| `VAULT_GROUP_DEPOSIT_FAILED` | `500` | Unexpected failure. Retry, or contact support with the request ID |
